I'm currently teaching 8th grade Spanish. I have taught all levels of Spanish, from kindergarten to high school, at various times in the past 17 years. I have a BA in Spanish and International Relations from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL, and an MA in Spanish Language and Culture from the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain. My shop includes all types of resources for Spanish and French, as well as materials for English Language Arts and ELL.

Spanish New Year Future Tense Sentences and Conjugations - Students translate 10 English to Spanish New Year resolution sentences, each starting with "In the New Year". The sentences include resolutions to help at home, be kind, recycle, do well in school, etc. A sample sentence is, "In the New Year, I will practice my trumpet every day." Students also conjugate future tense verbs in the tu form under 7 clip art images and conjugate 10 more future tense verbs in various forms. Spanish Day of the Dead / Dia de los Muertos Fallen Phrases - This activity provides a unique way for students to write Spanish sentences that utilize common Day of the Dead vocabulary (pierced paper, bread of the dead, cemetery, food, photo, altar, marigolds, family, sugar skulls, etc.) and the verbs gustar and encantar. Surround your students with Spanish language with this 167 word classroom label set! The labels are on plain, white backgrounds to allow you to print them on colored paper, rather than using expensive color printing. There are labels for most anything in your classroom from school supplies like lápices, cuadernos, plumas, tijeras, and carpetas, to standard items in and parts of the classroom like reloj, pared, puerta, ventana, planta, borrador, computadora, cartel, diccionario, pegamento, and engrapadora. Some words have more than one version included to accommodate regional differences, and several words are included in both their singular and plural forms to give flexibility in the classroom. In addition to the very typical classroom items, several words commonly found in Spanish or bilingual classroom settings are included. Examples of these Hispanic culture words are piñata, calavera, castañuelas, esqueleto, toro, and sombrero. This PowerPoint Jeopardy game contains all 20 official Spanish speaking countries, plus countries and territories where Spanish is still widely spoken, or where there has been significant Spanish influence in the past. They include Puerto Rico, Andorra, Guam, Philippines, and Gibraltar. The 5 categories are North America A, North America B, South America, South America and Africa, and Potpourri.
